Before sending a mobile phone for repair, basically as long as it can, it should be restored to the factory state to protect the security of personal data. But in this way, it is quite troublesome to return the mobile phone following repairing it. Samsung has now launched a new feature in South Korea called “Repair Mode” that should be a good solution.
according to SamMobile , this mode can be found in “Battery and Device Maintenance” in “Settings”. When activated, your personal information, photos, messages and accounts will be hidden, and the app will only see the factory preloaded of those. After the repair is completed, you only need to enter the same menu and confirm your identity with your fingerprint or other methods, then you can cancel the repair mode and restore the phone to normal.
Since Samsung only issued a press release in South Korea, this feature should not be launched in other markets in a short time, and the only mobile phone that can be used is the S21, which is quite limited. However, Samsung has confirmed that it will bring the maintenance mode to other models, as for other regions, we can only wait and see.
