Samsung has officially introduced its new foldable phone Galaxy Z Fold 2 which is Samsung’s most expensive phone.
The phone was first previewed alongside the Galaxy Note 20 series last month and it was said that pricing and availability details will be released on September 1.
Now it has been introduced and it is better than last year’s Galaxy Z Fold in every way.
The screen on the outside of the phone, which the company calls the cover screen, has grown from 4.6 inches to 6.2 inches, while the main screen on the inside has grown from 7.3 inches to 7.6 inches.
The main display has a 120 refresh rate while ultra-thin glass has also been incorporated into the device to improve image quality.
The hinge of the phone has also been improved and the company has named it the Hide Away Hinge and it can stand on its own at 75 to 115 degrees.
When this phone is used on flex mode, users can use specific apps in split view on the main screen.
The phone has a 3-camera setup on the non-screen side with a 12-megapixel main camera with dual-pixel autofocus, optical image stabilization and 1.8um size pixels.
Similarly, there is a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x zoom while the third camera is a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor.
The phone also has 2 selfie cameras which are both 10 and 10 megapixels, one of them is on the cover screen while the other is in the folding main screen.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 has a Snapdragon 865 Plus processor, 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
A 4500mAh battery is provided with 25W fast charging support while fast wireless charging and wireless power sharing are also part of the device.
According to Samsung, the phone will be available for pre-order in 40 markets from tomorrow, which customers will be able to get on September 18.
Its price has been fixed at 2 thousand dollars (more than 3 lakh 30 thousand Pakistani rupees).
