Recruitment at large companies, which had been frozen for a while, begins in earnest.
Samsung announced on the 13th that 18 affiliates, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung C&T, Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Biologics, and Cheil Worldwide, would conduct regular public recruitment (regular recruitment) in the first half of the year (January to June). Samsung, Hyundai Motor Company, SK, LG, and Lotte, among the five major business groups, are the only group that maintains a large-scale regular recruitment system.
Samsung did not disclose the size of this regular recruitment. However, he explained that it was part of a plan announced in August last year that it would “recruit 40,000 new people over three years.” Samsung conducts regular public recruitment once in the first and second half of every year.
Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong attended the government’s ‘Youth Hope ON’ project meeting in December last year and said, “As an entrepreneur, I feel a heavy responsibility for not being able to create more jobs. We will invest more in the fields we have and create better jobs,” he said.
Samsung accepts applications until the 21st. An online job aptitude test (GSAT) is scheduled for May, and a non-face-to-face interview is scheduled for June. The GSAT has been conducted online since 2020 due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). The final successful applicants will start work in July or August.
Companies that have switched to ad hoc hiring are also in full swing to recruit new college graduates. Hyundai Motor Group’s Hyundai Motor Group, which aims to hire 30,000 employees over three years, is recruiting candidates for positions such as strategic support and production by the 20th. Kia will hold production planning and quality job recruitment until the 21st, and the domestic business headquarters job integration recruitment until the 22nd.
LG Electronics is recruiting interns related to recruitment by business division this month, and LG Display and LG Energy Solutions (application deadline on the 20th). LG U+ (21st) and others also start hiring new employees. POSCO Group affiliates such as POSCO and POSCO International (22nd) and POSCO E&C (25th) are also hiring new employees in the first half of the year.
