New rumors from the Ice Universe Twitter account cast doubt on the planned arrival of the S Pen on Samsung’s future Fold 4 and would ultimately advance the hypothesis of an overall reduction in the size of the smartphone.
We could have believed it, but it would not be for now. After launching his Galaxy Z Fold 3 last year with S Pen compatibility on board and having provided a protective shell allowing its storage, some rumors reported a complete integration of the S Pen on the Galaxy Fold 4 this year, but in the end it would not be.

A smartphone without an integrated stylus, but a little more compact
This is a tweet from Ice Universe, leaker reputable, which informs us that Samsung would make the decision not to offer native stylus integration in the Fold 4. It also tells us that the design of the device could even become even more compact than last year and would gain in finesse. This statement is of course to be taken with the required tweezers.
This rumor S Pen integration dated back to February, at the same time according to the site XDA Developers only rumors that report an overall decrease in the area of the device, although marginal. We would go according to these rumors on screens of 7.56 inches and 6.19 inches against 7.6 inches and 6.2 inches on the Z Fold 3 currently. Other hallway noises also speak of the possible arrival of the telephoto lens reserved for Galaxy S22 on the next iteration of the Korean brand.
We would understand that Samsung wants at all costs to refine the design of its folding smartphone which can still seem quite imposing, especially once closed. The integration of an S Pen is therefore perhaps not yet enviable if it were to aggravate the situation, especially since the goal of the brand is certainly to want to allow the global adoption of this form factor.
A new identity?
It remains to be seen whether for its next version Samsung will keep the Z mention usually attributed to its foldable range and which has become, since the launch of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, a pro-Russian symbol associated with the country’s military. The change first took place in countries bordering Russia, but might as well be considered globally afterwards.
