Samsung updates OneUI on past generation smartphones and watches; What changes?

Samsung is bringing the latest One UI innovations to older devices through a new update. This is part of the company’s efforts to improve the experience on Galaxy devices and expand access to productivity and entertainment features.

Which devices will update OneUI?

Initially, the update will be rolled out to the Galaxy Z Fold4 5G and Galaxy Z Flip4 5G models. Later, the update will extend to other devices including Galaxy Z Fold3 5G, Z Flip3 5G, Z Fold2 5G and Z Flip. In addition to smartphones, the update will also benefit tablets such as the Galaxy Tab S8 5G, Tab S8+ 5G, Tab S8 Ultra 5G, Tab S7, Tab S7+, Tab S7 FE, Tab S6 Lite, Tab A8, Tab A7 Lite, Tab Active 3 and Tab Active 4 Pro. The Galaxy Watch5, Watch5 Pro, Watch4 and Watch4 Classic watches will also receive the One UI 5 Watch update.

What will improve in foldables?

One UI 5.1.1 update brings Flex Mode improvements for Galaxy Z Flip4 and Z Fold4 users, making it easier to access favorite media and content. The Flex Mode panel can be easily shown or hidden, providing a personalized experience. The media playbar button is now conveniently located in Flex Mode, allowing fast forwards and access to features.

You can watch movies and fast forward/rewind with one touch. In multitasking, you can open Samsung Internet in a floating window while watching a video.

Multiple Windows

The update also lets you drag and drop with two hands on the main screen for faster navigation and more efficient sharing of photos. For Galaxy Z Fold4 5G and Tab S8 5G users, the taskbar has been improved for faster switching between up to four recent apps, increasing productivity.
