SEOUL, Nov. 23 (Yonhap) — Samsung Electronics Co. on Thursday announced plans to launch a Galaxy Z Flip 5 in collaboration with French fashion brand Maison Margiela later this month.
The new edition will be decorated on the back with a trompe-l’oeil illustration suggesting a visualization of the internal circuits of the X-ray machine. It will be accompanied by accessories including a black leather case with embroidery stitches white and another with paint drops and numbers, the flagship design of the haute couture house. A charger with a numbered pattern will also be offered. The tech giant also carefully crafted its packaging, a box made from textured paper.
This special edition will only be available in South Korea, China and Hong Kong in limited quantities. The price of this device, with a storage capacity of 512 GB, will be 2,497,000 won ($1,920). Those who wish to purchase one can register on the Samsung website (www.samsung.com) on November 30 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Last year, the special edition Galaxy Z Flip 4 Maison Margiela sold out just eight seconds following going on sale on the Kream platform.
“This limited edition combining fashion and technology will provide an interesting experience for customers looking for a refreshing and original pleasure,” said the marketing director of the electronics giant’s Mobile eXperience (MX) business, Choi Seung- eun.
