Samsung unveils the Odyssey OLED G8 (model name: G85SB) at IFA 2022, a new top model in its Odyssey lineup. The Odyssey OLED G8 is the company’s first OLED gaming monitor and will come in an ultra-slim 34-inch form factor, delivering brilliant brightness on an OLED panel paired with Quantum Dot technology and packed with premium gaming features , including an incredibly low 0.1ms response time and 175Hz refresh rate.
The new 34-inch Odyssey OLED G8 is ultra-slim 3.9mm at its thinnest part – the thinnest in its product class – and features a sleek metal frame. The monitor requires no backlighting, while delivering RGB and true black for maximum color accuracy and brightness, all without color filters. Lighting is controlled in pixels that can be expressed in black with a near infinite contrast ratio.
This ultrawide QHD (3440 x 1440) resolution gaming monitor features a 21:9 aspect ratio with 100% color volume and DCI-99.3% color gamut for incredible visuals in any game which you are playing. It’s all boosted by a million times static contrast ratio to bring out the finest details for better immersion and 1800R curvature for the perfect view of the game.
The Odyssey OLED G8 is packed with gaming features that give any gamer a competitive edge. First, the OLED monitor is VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certified, ensuring content will appear vivid and lifelike with accurate color and contrast reproduction. In addition to the Odyssey OLED G8’s fast response time and refresh rate, which gives gamers lightning-fast response capabilities and true accuracy in a range of gaming environments, the monitor is further enhanced by AMD FreeSync Premium for smooth gaming.

The display functions as a complete entertainment hub with the ability to stream content via Samsung’s Smart Hub, providing access to the latest shows from Amazon Prime, Netflix, YouTube and other major OTT (over-the -top), even without connecting to a PC or mobile device. Also, users can enjoy free live content without having to download or register, thanks to Samsung TV Plus.
The built-in IoT hub allows users to check all IoT devices wirelessly connected to the monitor, while the SmartThings app allows users to monitor IoT devices throughout the home with ease. The app’s intuitive control panel can help monitor and adjust settings such as temperature and humidity.
