Samsung launches the Odyssey Ark, the world’s first 55-inch 1000R curved gaming monitor. This very large screen combines a refresh rate of 165 Hz, a response time of 1 ms (GtG1), an all-new Cockpit mode and an exclusive Ark Dial remote control. The Odyssey Ark is a revolutionary monitor designed to deliver incredible cinematic experiences and superior gaming performance. Its interface offers fully optimized flexibility. Presented for the first time at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year, the Odyssey Ark was rewarded at the CES Innovation Awards.
A new cinematic experience that stimulates the senses
Thanks to its 1000R curvature, the large 55-inch screen envelops the user’s field of vision and covers all of their peripheral vision. An impression further accentuated by the Cockpit mode, which allows the screen to be rotated thanks to the HAS (height adjustable foot), pivoting and tilting functionalities. At stake ? An optimal screen environment that creates a new sense of immersion.
The Odyssey Ark uses Samsung’s Quantum Matrix technology: Quantum Mini LEDs allow extremely precise control of highly condensed LEDs. With new 14-bit processing, sophisticated brightness control technology, gamers see dark and bright scenes, including 16,384 black levels for ultra-realistic graphics.
The million-to-one static contrast ratio brings out the finest details with razor-sharp clarity. What’s more, the Quantum Neural Ultra processor elevates content using data generated by 20 neural networks to enhance every visual detail, taking content up to 4K resolution.
For a cinematic experience, the Odyssey Ark features Samsung’s matte display and Sound Dome technology. The matte screen prevents reflections and glare, reducing distractions and allowing users to stay focused on the content moving past them. The Odyssey Ark delivers crystal clear sound thanks to Sound Dome technology. AI Sound Booster and Dolby Atmos technologies optimize the surround sound experience. Four speakers, one at each corner, and two center woofers deliver realistic, rich sound through 60W 2.2.2 channel, with the lowest 45Hz ratings of any gaming monitor and soundbar .
Superior gaming performance, optimized for gamers
Along with the 165Hz refresh rate, the Odyssey Ark offers 4K resolution (3840 x 2160) and 1ms (GtG) response time. Not to mention the AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technology. The result: On-screen accuracy is maximized and players have an edge over their opponents in action environments.
A flexible interface to find the perfect settings
Gamers are increasingly looking for personalized and customizable gaming experiences. The Odyssey Ark incorporates innovative features that allow them to adjust size, position, and even aspect ratio to create an optimal gaming setup. Specially developed for the Odyssey Ark, the solar-powered Ark Dial Controller provides quick and easy access to various settings, including the Flex Move Display, Multi-Views Display, Quick Settings, and Game Bar .
The Flex Move screen allows users to adjust the screen size between 55 and 27 inches, change the position of the screen and even switch between different aspect ratios (16:9, 21:9 and 32:9). All with a simple touch on the Ark Dial. This freedom in both horizontal and vertical positions gives users even greater control over the viewing experience. Thanks to Multi-Views mode, users exploit the full potential of the large screen by displaying up to four screens simultaneously in a horizontal position, or three in Cockpit mode. There is therefore no need for several screens: the players benefit from an open environment.
La Game Bar2 is a powerful tool that allows gamers to quickly and easily view game status and control important settings without ever having to leave the gaming screen. Whether checking FPS (frames per second), HDR (High Dynamic Range) or VRR (variable refresh rate), or adjusting settings such as aspect ratio, response time and Image mode, the game bar allows the player to stay in control on the way to victory.
In addition to being equipped with a solar panel, the Ark Dial is recharged by USB Type-C cable. No more disposable batteries!
