A Samsung is lying about their TVs HDMI specification. After a collective lawsuit filed against the company and against Best Buy in the US, and more recently a thorough analysis by the HDTVTest channel, a major reference in TV testing worldwide, confirmed that Samsung lied about the specifications of its new TV QD-OLED S95Ca variant of the S90C that was even reviewed by Oficina da Net.

Samsung and Best Buy are being sued in the United States for lying about the specifications of HDMI 2.1, Motion Xcelerator Turbo+ and FreeSync, according to the site Yonhap News Agency. O site SamMobile related that certain models of Samsung TVs do not have the features mentioned, for example, The Frame 43, which does not have a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a capacity that is directly linked to the minimum specifications of the HDMI 2.1 ports.

The above features are important for players using the PlayStation 5 (PS5) and/or Xbox Series X consoles. Recently, Vincent Teoh from the HDTVTest channel discovered through his Murideo SEVEN Generator 8K signal generator that the Samsung S95C TV has an HDMI 2.1 port capable of only reaching 40 Gbps (10 Gbps x 4L) instead of the full connection capacity, which is 48 Gbps. When we buy a High-End TV these days, we expect it to achieve the best possible performance for the available connections.

The RTINGs review site came to claim that the Samsung S95C had an HDMI 2.1 port capable of reaching a bandwidth of 48 Gbps. However, this was not what Vincent from HDTVTest found when carrying out measurements with his equipment. He even raised the possibility that there was a difference between the versions of the TV sold in the US and the UK, but in the end, it was confirmed that in both cases, the models could only transmit up to 40 Gbps.
