Samsung has been the leader in the smartphone market for some years now, consolidating itself as the most popular brand, taking regarding 40.7% of the national market, according to an updated estimate by StatCounter, in April 2023.
The notable difference in the score occurs, however, in relation to the Apple that would have jumped from 15.67% to 20.77%, narrowly overtaking Motorola, close behind, with regarding 20%. The numbers are not definitive, but an estimate of how much each of these brands would represent in the Brazilian scenario. Indeed, Apple’s nearly 5% jump is a different curve than the last 12 months.
In April last year, Apple remained around 14% of Brazilian phones, reaching 19.23% in October (perhaps seeing a gain following the launch of its new line) and gradually descending. Motorola, in turn, remained stable, oscillating between 22% and 20%.
The Chinese Xiaomi appears in fourth place, with almost 13% of that market share, followed by LG, still with 3%, according to the estimate, even though it has already officially withdrawn from the high-end cell phone market. Huawei is last, with less than 1% of cell phones, along with Asus, with 0.7%, and other brands not specified by StatCounter.
