Samsung announced last month that it would launch a online store specializing in products aimed at the gamer public. This Monday (10), the company opened its first experience in South Korea.
Game Portal offers gaming products ranging from smartphones, TVs, gaming monitors and PCs to gaming accessories such as headsets, high-performance SSDs and more.
Most of the devices available through the Game Portal are dedicated to gaming or offer some gaming features/superior performance, even if they are not designed solely as gaming devices. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is an example of this. While not a gaming device per se, it can run the latest mobile games thanks to Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
However, one of the criticisms of the collection is the presence of the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, which are not a good option for this target audience. This is because devices have a certain delay that is not noticed when consuming videos and music, but can be a problem for interactive media such as video games.
If products like this persist in the store, it might become an issue for the brand, which would be selling other devices that aren’t optimized for gaming while also passing them off as gamer-friendly.
According to the company’s original announcement, the virtual store should arrive in Brazil and in other countries such as the USA, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom before the end of the month.
