Samsung’s new entry-level tablet models will be available from the end of December, at a price starting at 179 euros including tax.
Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A series perfectly meets the needs of people looking for a functional tablet, but who don’t want to pay a lot. The latest generation comes in two screen sizes: 8.7-inch and 11-inch, the latter having a 90Hz refresh rate.
The smallest model, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9, is available with Wi-Fi or LTE. The larger Tab A9+ can be configured with Wi-Fi or 5G. Both models feature the same 8-megapixel camera on the back. The larger of the two has a better selfie camera on the front (5 MP versus 2 MP).
For a sharper image, choose the largest model (1200 x 1920 pixels). The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 only has a limited resolution of 800 x 1340 pixels. Charging has a maximum of 15 watts. Samsung does not ship a charger in the box.
For media consumption, the Tab A9+ is the best model with its four speakers. The smaller A9 model only has two.
Both models have a storage capacity of 64 GB and a RAM of 4 GB by default. The most demanding can also opt for the alternative with 128 GB of storage and 6 GB of RAM. In both tablets a microSD card with a maximum capacity of 1 TB can be inserted.
The Tab A9 series will be available at the end of December. The basic model (Wi-Fi) of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 starts at 179 euros. LTE connectivity costs 40 euros more. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ is priced from 249 euros for the wifi model. The 5G option costs 50 euros more. All prices are inclusive of VAT.
