Campaign “Casa nova, vida Smart” was produced in partnership with Cheil and shows the features of the SmartThings platform, such as unlimited connectivity between branded devices and third parties
To present what it’s like to live in a smart home, all connected through the SmartThings platform, Samsung has just launched a campaign on social networks, starring actors Fabio Porchat and João Vicente Castro. In situations set in Porchat’s new home, in Rio de Janeiro, the duo demonstrates, in practice, the benefits of connectivity between different devices, such as smartphone, TV, refrigerator, air conditioning, among others. Future neighborhood neighbors, the campaign takes place at a time when both artists are finalizing the construction of their new homes, fully connected with various Samsung products.
The campaign “New house, smart life”, was developed in partnership with Cheil and features five episodes of up to 90 seconds that contrast the facilities of a more connected lifestyle, represented by Porchat, once morest the less connected habits of João Vicente .
In the stories, Porchat receives a visit from his friend at his home, who is impressed with how easy it is to control rooms in the house, as well as devices such as TV, air conditioning, robot vacuum cleaner, washer and dryer, among other products, in a simple and quick way , using Samsung’s SmartThings technology, either through the app or through the direct connection between the brand’s products. An example of this is the Smart View function, which allows mirroring the Samsung Galaxy smartphone directly on the television to play content such as photos and videos.
No first episode from the webseries, entitled ‘Cadê meu bolo?’, João Vicente arrives at Porchat’s house and is faced with the unlimited connectivity between the devices. The short begins with the actor using Samsung’s Artificial Intelligence voice assistant, Bixby, to play his friend’s playlist on the TV while he waits for him to get ready to go out. Finally, he feels comfortable exploring the house – and Porchat’s fridge, until he discovers that even the indoor and outdoor cameras can be tracked in real time by SmartThings. In a humorous way, the episode ends with Porchat asking Bixby to send the video of João Vicente, captured by the security camera in the kitchen, to his contact list in the email.
“I’m crazy regarding technology and, when I started to build my house, the only certainty I had was that Samsung would have to be with me on this project. As always, they accepted and made a connected home dream project. Samsung has the most complete portfolio on the market, so today, seeing that dream come true is incredible. Technology comes to make our lives easier and for me it is an honor to be together with Samsung, which has been my partner for many years and in this project”, says actor João Vicente de Castro.
“Amid the many things that involve a work at home, it’s always great to have the peace of mind of having a partner like Samsung, which makes everything happen efficiently and with quality. All the products in the Samsung portfolio that are in my house have exceeded my expectations”, says comedian Fabio Porchat.
With the SmartThings platform, it is possible to transform home environments according to your needs, in a simple and practical way. It is possible, for example, to control the air conditioning, the lighting in the house and the security cameras using only the application, whether on the smartphone, tablet or on the TV itself. Available for free download on Android smartphones and other operating systems1, the application is compatible with several Samsung home appliances and products from the Galaxy line, in addition to smart devices from other brands, such as lamps, curtains, locks and smart accessories, such as voice assistants.
In addition, there are products from the Samsung portfolio that connect to each other without the need to use the application. SmartThings. This is the case of integrations between Galaxy smartphones and branded TVs, as well as integration between notebooks and tablets from the Galaxy line with the company’s wireless headphones.
“The campaign’s idea is to show people that having a ‘smart home’ is simpler than many can imagine, in addition to using good humor to present situations in which Samsung’s SmartThings technology brings facilities ranging from control of devices and the optimization of daily routines, to the possibility of transforming home environments according to your needs and preferences”, says Anna Karina Pinto, director of corporate marketing at Samsung Brazil. “This is a campaign created to show people a new way of relating to their homes, living in a more practical way”.
The material developed for the campaign will be divided into episodes, which will be published on each artist’s Instagram page, as well as on Samsung’s official profiles on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.
SmartThings
SmartThings uses Internet of Things (IoT) technology to connect mobile devices and home appliances in a single location. With it, you can transform your home into a connected space, allowing you to easily track the status and manage your devices. Building on Samsung’s vision for smoother technology, Samsung’s SmartThings platform built for managing and controlling multiple devices reflects the innovations that seamlessly connect smart devices and enhance everyday life at home.
To promote unique experiences at home, Bixby, Samsung’s Artificial Intelligence voice assistant, is integrated into the SmartThings app and responds to simple voice commands that make the home routine smarter, more efficient and more enjoyable. To start exploring the best of both worlds integration, just say “Hi Bixby” to activate it, then start prompting for other commands.
In addition to bringing to the films a parallel in the lives of Fábio Porchat and João Vicente, making clear the experience of having SmartThings, the creation of the campaign brought, for the first time, a different narrative that escapes traditional . “We contextualize the products in the day-to-day life and in the real residence of both artists with stories that create true connections and put the brand in a fun way and highlight the use of SmartThings. Even so, the narrative, aesthetics and soundtrack are original, bringing an air of “series” to make the connection between the 5 episodes”, explains Felipe Andrade, CCO of Cheil Brasil”.
