Two models of The Wall are now on sale in Europe, expanding Samsung’s leadership in virtual production and extended reality studios
Samsung Electronics has announced its continued commitment to the future of virtual production with its newest digital display product line. The Wall for Virtual Production (model name: IVC) is now available in Europe and will be showcased at IBC2023, taking place in Amsterdam, Netherlands, September 15-18. This expansion of the solution portfolio builds on its North American launch announced at the InfoComm 2023 conference.

Production studios can use super-large LED walls to create virtual content, integrating them with real-time visual effects technology to reduce the time and cost of content production. The Wall for Virtual Production is a leading product in this type of application and can enhance projects by adding realistic levels of detail, texture, volume and nuance to virtual content creation environments. New IVC model options, P1.68 and P2.1, include a radius of curvature that can extend up to 5,800 R, creating a more realistic field of view. The screen also has an updated sync lock feature that keeps The Wall in sync with system signals, so there are no dropped or split frames. This capability, along with the improved phase shift function that adjusts the delay between camera and screen, ensures a perfect picture.
To display colors as accurately and consistently as possible, The Wall for Virtual Production features three-dimensional look-up tables (LUTs) for color correction, wide-gamut HDR color processing, and color adjustment between cabinets or individual modules. The integrated Virtual Production Management (VPM) software and its intuitive interface make screen management easier and more efficient, achieving the best possible image quality in a virtual production environment. The VPM is also capable of detecting and resolving any potential LED issues.
