Samsung’s trio of flagship tablets in the Galaxy Tab S8 The series has been a rumored staple for the past few months, but now a full leak has revealed everything regarding them – product renders from every angle, detailed specs, and even a price range. This year, Samsung is adding a third member to its flagship line of tablets. The new entrant would be sold as the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. And as the name very clearly suggests, this one will be the beefiest, both in terms of size and internal hardware.
According to purported product renders that surfaced online a while ago, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will rock a notch to the top. And it’s been positioned with landscape usage in mind, which is a perfectly reasonable decision given the screen real estate. The other two members of Samsung’s flagship tablet portfolio for 2022 are the Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Tab S8 Plus. All three tablets will likely go official alongside the Galaxy S22 series phones at Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked event which is expected to take place early next month.
However, it looks like leaks will spoil any surprises. WinFuture shared alleged marketing images of the tablet from all angles, along with detailed specs and rough asking price estimates. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra offers a 14.6-inch display (2960 x 1848 pixels) with a 120Hz refresh rate. The notch at the top houses a 12-megapixel main camera and another 12-megapixel snapper for a ultra wide angle capture. At its heart is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage with the option of further expansion via a microSD card slot.
Powerful and expensive
The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra has an 11,2000mAh battery, but fast charging numbers are unknown. On the back, a black band covers the camera island and is slightly recessed to magnetically accommodate the S Pen stylus. The rear camera hardware includes a 13-megapixel main snapper and a 6-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter. Additionally, there are four stereo speakers to handle audio output, while 5G support supports cellular connectivity. As for the asking price, Samsung would charge between 1,140 EUR (regarding $1,300) and 1,220 EUR (regarding $1,400) for its magnum flagship tablet.
The Galaxy Tab S8 and its Plus variant feature an 11-inch OLED display (2560 x 1600 pixels) and a 12.7-inch OLED display (2800 x 1752 pixels) respectively, with a refresh rate of 120Hz to start. The innards include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, along with 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of storage. Although the rear camera setup is similar to the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, there is only one 12-megapixel front camera. The Galaxy Tab S8 is expected to start at 680 euros (regarding $775), while the Plus version might set buyers back a minimum of 1,040 euros (regarding $1,190). But these are rough estimates, so take them as such. But if we rely on the Galaxy Tab S7 duo, the Galaxy Tab S8 trio will be quite taxing on buyers’ bank accounts.
