Update (12/29/2023) – by DT
A Samsung must display the line Galaxy S24 in early 2024 and one of the most anticipated features is two-way satellite connectivity. However, a new rumor surfaced this week and casts doubt on the existence of this option on the devices.
According to information from the ETNews website, Samsung is testing the Galaxy S24 series models with the three network operators in South Korea (KT, LG Uplus and SK Telecom) and there appears to be no mention of two-way satellite connectivity.
As is customary in the market, the devices are packaged in a kind of lunch box so as not to reveal their appearance, and the manufacturer did not mention the option of satellite connectivity with a bidirectional structure for operators to carry out their internal tests.
It is worth noting that we are in the field of speculation and nothing has been confirmed by Samsung. In recent months, rumors claimed that the models would feature two-way satellite connectivity. Including, a screenshot of One UI 6.1 cited the feature.

Although the Apple use a one-way framework to send distress signals to related authorities, the rumor was that Samsung was working on a two-way framework for users to send and receive messages when they are without a cellular network.
Now, expectations for the arrival of Samsung’s two-way satellite connectivity remain for the series Galaxy S25. The S24 series must maintain the structure unidirectional, feature debuted on Apple with the series iPhone 14launched last year.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 line must have satellite connection for emergencies. The information was confirmed thanks to a screenshot leaked this Wednesday.
The image began to circulate on social media and shows that Samsung should offer “emergency texts” via satellite. That is, the user will be able to send SMS.
The Korean manufacturer explains that if the user calls emergency services when they are out of town or not connected to a mobile network, Samsung will connect them via a satellite network so that an emergency message can be sent.

Generally speaking, this feature should work basically the same way as it does on iPhones. In other words, the user will send a text message with their GPS location so that emergency teams can act and provide assistance as quickly as possible.
This feature will be available on the Galaxy S24 line with Qualcomm Snapdragon or Samsung Exynos chips. The company must use an exclusive chip for this two-way satellite communication via text messages.
For now, Samsung has not commented on the leak. Still, we know that the Galaxy S24 line should hit the market in January and, therefore, the company has accelerated the development of the One UI 6.1 interface.
However, it will not be this time that the Korean devices will offer voice calls via satellite, something that is present in the Huawei Mate 60 line.
