With the introduction of the further developed Ambient Sound, Samsung is committed to ensuring that people who suffer from hearing loss can also perceive their surroundings better acoustically.
Technology should become more accessible and inclusive
The updated Ambient Sound feature, previously available in three levels of amplification, now offers two additional levels1. This is intended to support even more users who suffer from hearing loss.
In order to be able to evaluate the effectiveness of the Ambient Sound function, a clinical study conducted by the University of Iowa Hearing Aid and Aging Research Laboratory in collaboration with Samsung Medical Center2. The study came to the conclusion that the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro significantly improve the speech perception of people with mild to moderate hearing loss. One similar studyconducted by Samsung Medical Center, also found that the Galaxy Buds2 Pro can be an effective aid for people with mild to moderate hearing loss when it comes to communicating in quiet environments.
New audio customization options
By customizing the Ambient Sound feature, Galaxy Buds2 Pro users can fine-tune their ambient sound settings for different needs. The volume for ambient noise can be adjusted individually on the left and right side. The tone of the ambient noise can be selected between five levels from “soft” to “clear”. Depending on hearing ability, ambient noise may be heard differently. Users can make individual settings with the ambient mode using the “Adjust ambient noise” function. These can help them to be more aware of their surroundings.
Availability
The customized Ambient Sound feature will be available on the Galaxy Buds2 Pro via software updates in the future.
