After the success of the Galaxy Buds Pro, Samsung is now attacking the mid-range with ses Galaxy Buds 2. These wireless headphones replace the first of the name, bringing improvements such as the presence of noise reduction technology. Already offered at a great price, Samsung headphones enjoy 40% off.

What are Galaxy Buds 2?

  • Comfortable headphones with a compact body
  • Effective active noise reduction
  • Audio quality ensured by two transducers
  • The fast charging part

Instead of 149 euros, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 (purple color) are on sale at 119 euros on Amazon. To further reduce the bill, the manufacturer offers a ODR from 30 euros valid until June 21, 2022. Thus, the true wireless only cost 89 euros.

A model that is close to the Buds Pro

Aesthetically, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 are in line with Buds Live or Buds Pro. They therefore also adopt a rounded in-ear format. Once in your ear canal, the headphones are very comfortable and will be forgotten during long listening sessions, in particular thanks to their lightness (only 6.3 grams per earbud). Samsung is rethinking the ergonomics of its headphones, including a rather large touch surface for easy control. As for the case, it is rather compact and will be easy to store in a pocket.

A convincing audio part

This is surely one of the strong points of these Buds 2: the audio. They offer a balanced, well-detailed and warm sound reproduction, in particular thanks to its two dynamic transducers —the same as the Buds Pro. We therefore have a tweeter, which will focus on the highs and mids, and a woofer, focused on the bass. In addition, true wireless headphones are well compatible with classic codecs such as Bluetooth. SBC et AAC, but we will not be able to find the aptX nor the LDAC. For this price range, they have the merit of being quite precise and efficient, especially in vocals or treble.

These wireless headphones obviously have active noise reduction. If, in fact, we are far from what headphones can offer WF-1000XM4 from Sony or the AirPods Pro from Apple, the headphones succeed in reducing a good part of the noise, especially since the passive isolation is already well mastered. A Transparency mode is also available, which allows – unlike ANC – to hear the sounds around you.

Quick to reload

As for autonomy, the headphones are quite durable. Samsung promises a duration of use of 5 hours with activated noise reduction, while the case deploys him 20 hours of use. Without ANC, the case can go up to 29 hours of autonomy.

However, their advantage lies in their recharging, because 38 minutes will suffice to recharge them to 100% once placed in their case. Wireless charging is a little slower, of course, but it’s still there. Finally, note that the Buds 2 are only IPX2 certified compared to the IPX7 index of the Galaxy Buds Pro. They therefore resist only splashes of water projected at an angle of up to 15°.
