Samsung expands its Samsung TV Plus offer with Destination Nature, the first channel published and operated by Samsung available in France

Samsung announces the launch in France of Destination Nature.

Dedicated to documentaries on nature and the environment, Destination Nature has been available since October 12 in the package of free streaming channels from Samsung TV Plus. This new channel is accessible via channel 4001 from all Smart TVs[1]Galaxy smartphones and tablets[2] from Samsung.

Destination Nature is the variation of the Wild Planet (in the United Kingdom, Sweden and the Netherlands) and Wilder Planet (in Germany, Switzerland and Austria) channels, which are among the most popular Samsung TV Plus channels. It is thus the second most watched channel in Germany since its launch last July, among more than 110 channels offered in the Samsung TV Plus package across the Rhine.

Destination Nature offers 25 documentaries[3]produced and dubbed in French by Off The Fence[4]among which :

  • Brilliant Species: thanks to David Attenborough, discovery of bioluminescence: the light produced by living beings. On land or in the oceans, they are everywhere. David and his team reveal the secrets of these living lights. (60 minutes);
  • The white lionesses: in May 2009, two small white lion cubs were born in the nature reserve of Timbavati. Their white fur is rare and makes their survival more complicated. Followed by their first twelve years. (2x 60 minutes);
  • The fury of the climate: Richard Hammond demonstrates the power of rising hot air currents through an original experiment using hot plates: a rather spectacular demonstration. (3x 60 minutes).

Samsung TV Plus: soon more than a hundred channels available in France

Samsung TV Plus, Samsung’s free video streaming service on Smart TVs and Galaxy devices, offers instant access to news, sports, entertainment and more since 2021.

With recent additions[5] Secret Story and MasterChef channels with Endemol France, Enquêtes de Choc with FAST Media and now Destination Nature, Samsung TV Plus now has more than 85 channels in France and aims to have more than a hundred by the start 2023.

Globally, the service accounts for 1 billion hours watched in 2021 on the 1,600 Samsung TV Plus channels in 24 markets[6] in which it is available.
