Samsung donates a total of 10 billion won to help Ukrainian refugees and victims of forest fires in Gangwon

Samsung Group donated KRW 7 billion and KRW 3 billion, respectively, for refugee relief following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and restoration of damage caused by wildfires in Gangwon Province.

On the 6th, Samsung Electronics said, “We are promoting humanitarian aid supplies to Ukrainian refugees in solidarity with international organizations. I decided to donate.”

In addition, Samsung donated 3 billion won to help residents suffering from large-scale wildfires in Uljin, Gyeongbuk and Samcheok, Gangwon. The donation will be delivered through the National Disaster Relief Association.

Eight affiliates, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung SDI, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung SDS, Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Fire & Marine, and Samsung C&T, participated in this donation.

Separately, 1,000 disaster relief kits including daily necessities are provided for victims living in temporary housing facilities.

Samsung also donated 2 billion won each to Typhoon Mitak and Gangwon-do wildfires in 2019. During the torrential downpour in 2020, we supported 3 billion won in donations. During the COVID-19 crisis, they donated 30 billion won in relief donations and goods.
