“Samsung Gulf” confirmed the recovery of the electronics market in the UAE and the return of sales levels for the majority of products to pre-Covid-19 rates, due to the country’s purchasing power due to the demand for purchasing newer products, especially connected devices that support “Internet of Things” technologies.
Omar Sahib, Regional Director of Marketing at Samsung Middle East and North Africa, said: “Samsung Gulf Electronics” sales of smart devices, TV screens and entertainment devices in general achieved good growth in the UAE during the “Covid-19” period, due to the changing lifestyles during this period. Pointing out that the UAE market is one of the most important markets for the company in the Arabian Gulf region.
“Samsung Gulf Electronics” opened the new “SmartThings Home” innovative space, the largest of its kind in the world in Dubai Media City, and is the first of its kind in the region and North Africa, which displays an image of future homes that includes 4 sections: home entertainment, home office, work and play The studio dedicated to content creators across more than 300 brands targeting young people and Generation Z around the future of home and connectivity.
The company stated during a press conference, that the SmartThings application currently has 230 million users around the world, including 31 million users in the region and North Africa.
Sung-Hyun Lee, President of Samsung Gulf Electronics, said: “The launch of the new SmartThings Home space in Dubai gives users the opportunity to explore our entire ecosystem of connected devices across a range of key scenarios that embody their everyday experiences. This innovative space enables us to communicate closely with customers, and allows them to interact with our products in an innovative way, in addition to giving them forward-looking visions regarding the shape and advanced designs of future homes.”
The SmartThings Home space brings together Samsung’s IoT and AI products, as well as other smart products, on a single platform that can be accessed through the company’s connected devices, including cooking, grooming, pet care, and home air quality improvement, to enable customers to accomplish their personal tasks.
