Like its predecessors, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is a folding smartphone that uses the concept of a flip phone. However, Samsung obviously did not wait for the Flip range and foldable screens to create this type of device.
Many years ago, flip phones were commonplace, including the very famous Samsung SGH-E700. To pay tribute to this pioneering model which occupies a special place in the hearts of the brand (and undoubtedly of certain people), Samsung unveils the Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro.
This is a limited edition to celebrate the anniversary of the SGH-E700.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro is inspired by the SGH-E700, a flip phone that marked its time with its exceptional design and performance. Unveiled in 2003, exactly 20 years ago, this revolutionary phone was the first Samsung model to incorporate a hidden antenna. This innovation and the great popularity of the phone played a strategic role in the development of Samsung’s positions in the mobile phone sector.
Concretely, this Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro stands out by using the color codes of the SGH-E700 with a combination of indigo blue and silver. In addition, on the software side, the experience has been revisited to recall that of the old flip phone. The characteristics of the Samsung SGH SGH-E700
As a reminder, in 2003, the SGH-E700 included two screens: the main panel inside offered a definition of 128 x 160 pixels compared to 96 x 64 pixels for the one on the front. For dimensions, the phone displayed 90 x 45 x 23 mm for a weight of 86 grams.
The SGH-E700 might count on a removable 800 mAh battery and a camera peaking at 0.3 Mpx. Another era that smelled of physical keyboards where you had to press the 7 key four times to write the letter S.
