Samsung Bespoke Jet Ai challenges Dyson with artificial intelligence. Here is our test

Before trying (and reviewing) an electric broom, you need to ask yourself some questions. Some are common to other consumer electronics products, such as who the competitors are, what the state of the art of innovation is, value in use and market prices. In the case of such an important household appliance, you need to add what your ideal level of cleanliness is, what level it is for the people around you and what real problems it solves.
Because, unlike a mobile phone or a computer, an electric broom is not created to entertain or to be fun, but to solve problems. Like Mr. Wolf, the gangster from Quentin Tarantino’s “Pulp Fiction”. Samsung’s BeSpoke Jet Ai was created to compete with products such as the Folletto and the Dyson V15 Detect, the top of the market, so it starts from a high ambition. Let’s start from the “technical sector”: the artificial intelligence automatically adapts the power of 280 watts to the type of dirt.

As with Dyson, an LED helps you see better, but the South Korean electric broom sees very well on its own. At start-up, there are five modes, each characterized by a different power, which means that it adapts to various situations by varying the suction power also based on the type of floor. During the test, we were able to vacuum practically anything with a single pass. But, more than the AI, the real advantage is represented by the Clean Station, i.e. the station that keeps it upright, acts as a recharge and allows you to empty the dust. Unlike other wireless electric brooms that offer the option of being fixed to the wall, Samsung offers the convenience of being able to place it anywhere, and it’s also aesthetically pleasing, so you don’t have to go crazy deciding where to hide it.

Another advantage, not only in terms of design, are the accessories. They are really many: in addition to the Clean Station, there are three different brushes, two different lances and a support where you can hang accessories. A positive note, especially for those who, like the writer, have a dog and two cats at home, is the brush designed for animal hair. Less good, however, is the weight; as versatile as it is, it is not suitable for older people. The real flaw, however, is the price: on the price list it says 1,129 euros, which isn’t much if you think regarding the accessories and the Clean Station, but we are still above the Dyson V15 Detect. The Hoover HFX, excellent value for money, and the Folletto play a different game.
