In its tenth edition in Brazil, Samsung’s global corporate citizenship program awarded the winners in a closing ceremony, held today (28) in São Paulo
Samsung announced this morning (28) the winning projects of the 10th edition of Solve For Tomorrow Brasil. The brand’s global corporate citizenship program has the general coordination of Cenpec and is known for encouraging students and teachers from the public school system to create innovative solutions for real demands of society, using the STEM approach (acronym in English for Science, Technology , Engineering and Mathematics). The awards ceremony held this Tuesday was broadcast live on the official channel of Solve For Tomorrow no YouTubeand the winners were teams from the states of Rondônia, Maranhão, Ceará, Espírito Santo and Rio Grande do Norte in the National Winners and Popular Jury categories.
In the National Winners category, the three awarded projects were selected by a judging panel made up of representatives from Samsung and Cenpec, as well as experts from universities and professionals working in the areas of education, science and technology, as well as members of the Organization of Ibero-American States. Americans for Education, Science and Culture in Brazil (OEI), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO in Brazil), the Secretariat of Education of the State of São Paulo (SEDUC), the NGO Todos pela Educação and Colégio Bandeirantes.
They selected the team of students from the Federal Institute of Rondônia – Campus Porto Velho Calama, in Porto Velho, with the project NanoFotoCream: antioxidant, photoprotector with repellent action, to occupy the first position among the winners of the edition. In second and third place are the projects Biogas and biofertilizer production: sustainable alternative in the community e Production of High-Yield Solid Fuel with Coconut Husks and Sawdustboth from the state of Maranhão.
The judging panel also awarded the students from Escola Estadual Angelo Scarabucci, in Franca (SP), an honorable mention for their project Conscious silence: autistic students and noise in the classroom, due to the transformative potential of the prototype regarding the social inclusion of autistic students. The problem situation was identified by a student class council, impacting the school community.
In the Popular Jury category, which had open voting between the 16th and 26th of November, the winning projects in the 10th edition of Solve For Tomorrow were the following: project Sustainable biofactory: production of agricultural bioinputs, developed by the team at the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo on the Vila Velha Campus; project PectiVitalis: Sustainable Anti-Waste Coating for Fruitcreated by students at the Marconi Coelho Reis Full-Time High School, in Cascavel (CE), and the project Sustainable SPP: recycling in Potengifrom the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Norte on the São Paulo do Potengi Campus (RN).
“The projects presented at Solve For Tomorrow Brasil always impress us. “It is very gratifying to know, honor and value incredible and innovative projects carried out in public schools across the country. We hope that the training path and the exchanges carried out will inspire teachers to continue working to make the classroom a welcoming space conducive to new ideas”.
The National Winners of the edition won a Samsung projector for each school, as well as a trophy, commemorative plaque and digital seal. Furthermore, the school responsible for the national project in 1st place was awarded three Samsung notebooks. Still regarding the National Winners awards, the team that occupied the first position was awarded a Samsung smartphone, a Samsung Smart TV and a headset for each student in the group. The team that came in 2nd place was awarded a Samsung notebook and a Samsung Smart TV for each student. The team that came in 3rd place took a smartwatch and a Samsung Smart TV for each student.
The students and teachers who won by the Popular Jury were awarded a Samsung wireless headset. And their schools were awarded with a branded projector and a trophy from the program. Furthermore, all finalist students received a Samsung tablet, while the guiding teachers and partners of the 10 finalist teams were awarded a branded notebook.

Solve For Tomorrow has been in Brazil since 2014 and, in the current edition, has a diverse program made up of webinars, workshops and mentoring to help participants achieve their goals by applying possible improvements to their projects. In total, the initiative has already involved 173 thousand students, more than 36 thousand teachers, and more than 6,600 public schools.
