After the Neo G9 and Neo G8, Samsung is further enriching its range of PC gamer screens with the Neo G7, a 32-inch 4K screen equipped with a Quantum Mini LED panel.
Samsung steps up its game and completes its range of gaming screens
We no longer present the Samsung Odyssey G9 screens and especially the Neo G9, the undisputed star of gamer screens that everyone would dream of having one day.
Having tested it for a few months at the editorial office, we can confirm that it is one of the most beautiful objects we have ever seen on a desk, even if it was not for working every day what was most obvious. In game, on the other hand, we are still drooling and we remember Jiikaa’s tears when he had to return his precious.
As you probably know by now, the particularity of the “Neo Gx” screens at Samsung is to offer Quantum Mini LED type panels, instead of the traditional QLED which we have been used to for several years. The technology thus combines all the advantages of Samsung QLED screens with the brightness and backlighting offered by Mini LED technology. It’s kind of the best of both worlds.
Among all the many advantages brought by Mini LEDs, we also think of deeper blacks, brighter light parts, better contrast and a reduction in “blooming”, this little haze that can sometimes appear around certain objects.
Samsung Odyssey Neo G7, for the pleasure of the eyes
Before, all these technologies were only reserved for the best TVs, but for a few years, we have had the chance to see them also applied to “small” PC screens, and that’s a real pleasure.
The Odyssey Neo G7 is therefore a 32-inch, 4K (3840 x 2160p) screen, equipped with a curved VA panel with a radius of curve of 1000R (where most competitors offer 1800 or 1500R), a refresh rate of 165 Hz and a response time of 1 ms.
Besides the Quantum Mini LED technology, we also note the presence of AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for vertical synchronization or HDR 2000 certification with a peak light of 2000 nits and a static contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1.
No date or price for the moment, the Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 screen is however expected during the summer.
