Frenchman Samir Nasri, the former player, strongly criticized his compatriot Didier Deschamps, the coach of the “Roosters” team, and said in an interview with the French channel Blos that Deschamps was unjustly deprived of playing in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, as he did not include him in the list of the team participating in the tournament, even though he He spent a wonderful season with Manchester City, for which he played at the time.
Because Nasri is the type of player who has a sharp temper and is easily provoked, his interlocutor was keen to push him to talk about many aspects of his football career, which witnessed many fluctuations.
Nasri said, at the beginning of his speech, that he deeply regretted not participating in the World Cup in Brazil, and he took the opportunity to launch a severe attack on Deschamps, accusing him of being unfair when he excluded him from his choices for the final list participating in the tournament, admitting that not fulfilling his dream of participating in the tournament. The World Cup was the worst memory in his football career, and at the time he did not find any justification for Deschamps to make this decision.
He added: My absence from the 2014 World Cup was an unjust decision, because I was not the only one responsible for the team’s defeat in the first leg of the European play-off match against Croatia, 0-2. It is true that I performed poorly in the match, but it was very good for most of the 2013-2014 season with Manchester City, and I used to wish myself every day to play in the World Cup and go to Brazil, but I was shocked that I was not selected in the final list for the tournament, and my sadness increased because I did not also participate in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, and Raymond Domenech at the time was the coach of the “Roosters” and the two major tournaments. They are what I regret most in my playing career.
The truth of the matter, as stated by Goal.com, is that Nasri’s riotous personality and transgressive behavior were the reason behind his often being prevented from joining the national team. Despite this, he always talked about how he was behaving like himself and that he was proud of that.
During the interview, Nasri responded to many criticisms directed at him regarding his football career, especially with regard to his relationship with his colleagues in clubs, as well as the coaches who succeeded him, and described these criticisms as false and pure slander.
Nasri said: If I had been more obedient and conciliatory, and less committed to my positions, it would have been possible to play at least one World Cup, but I see that my behavior is consistent with the clear nature of my personality, and I prefer to remain that way, whether others like it or not.
At the conclusion of the conversation, Nasri admitted that he did not support his country’s national team, France, in the 2014 World Cup, and he asked in astonishment: How can I support the national team, when I am in the circumstances that I experienced? If I had done so, I would have been a hypocrite and a liar.
