Approved since 2021 by Health Canada, Wegovy will be distributed in Canada starting next Monday to Canadians who meet the requirements to receive it, Novo Nordisk said on Thursday.

“The strong global demand for Wegovy® demonstrates the considerable unmet demand for therapeutic options,” highlighted the Danish company.

The treatment is indicated in addition to a low-calorie diet and an increase in physical activity for people who find themselves obese or overweight if they also have hypertension or diabetes.
