Egyptian player Samar Hamza expressed her happiness following she topped the world wrestling rankings, in an unprecedented achievement for Egypt.
Samar became the first Egyptian player to top the world wrestling rankings with 71,600 points.
In statements to Ontime Sports 2, Samar said, “Actually, I was surprised to be at the top of the world wrestling rankings, and I was very happy.”
She added, “My dream now, which I am working for, is to achieve a medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics.”
And she continued, “After my return from Tokyo, I thought regarding not playing once more because I was frustrated regarding not winning a medal in the last Olympics.”
And the Egyptian player continued: “My preparation plan is going well, and the wrestling federation is implementing this plan in the best way, and I hope that God will help me to win a medal in the Paris Olympics.”
Samar succeeded in ascending the world rankings of wrestling following she outperformed the Turkish Yasmine Adar, who ranked second, and the Estonian Mai Ip, who finished third.
The Egyptian player was honored by Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, following winning the silver medal for the World Wrestling Championship.
