The great start of Salzburger Austria in the Regionalliga West did not end in the silver city. The Schaider squad took advantage of their chances to make it 2-0 and following three rounds they are laughing with the maximum number of points from the top of the table.

The team had a hard time once morest the well-adjusted Tyroleans for a long time and Schwaz created a few opportunities. “In the first half we hardly had control of the game,” said midfielder Marinko Sorda following the game. With a lot of commitment and a bit of luck – or bad luck, depending on your point of view – it went goalless into the dressing room.

Great start in the second half

Austria got off to a much better start in the second round. In minute 54 the time had come. After a nice offensive action, Alterdinger was knocked down in the penalty area. Clear decision by referee Macanovic – penalty for Austria. Matthias Theiner made it 1-0 from Austria’s point of view.

Harter Fight in Tirol.

Schwaz has the chances, Austria the goal

Shortly following the penalty, Schwaz had the opportunity to equalize. Alone in front of keeper Kalman, Florian Tipotsch forgave miserably.
The violets managed to get better and faster over the sides in the direction of the Schwazer Tor. And that was exactly enough for Austria to make a preliminary decision. Alterdinger shot from the right in the direction of Volkert, a Tyrolean attempt to defend put the ball in front of Yannic Fötschl’s legs, who shot in without much ado – 2-0 for Austrian in the 75th minute.

Shortly before the end, the many Austria fans who had traveled with them caught their breath once more. Martin Schmadl from Schwaz thundered the ball from close range onto the crossbar. The Tyroleans were denied the goal, so three points went to Austria’s account.
