The Salzburg police have now identified a six-member gang of robbers. The young men are accused of robbing and humiliating a teenager in Mirabell Gardens.
The crime department of the city police command reported the investigation of a serious crime on Thursday. On September 30th, a 14-year-old from Flachgau was seriously injured and robbed by a group of six perpetrators in Mirabell Gardens.
The suspects now identified are a 16-year-old Serb, a 16-year-old Romanian, a 14-year-old North Macedonian and three Austrians (twice 15 and 21 years old).
They are accused of inflicting serious injuries on their victim’s nose with a knee strike and then causing a concussion with a chain-wrapped fist and blows to the face. They then forced the 14-year-old’s cell phone and forced him to kneel and kiss their shoes.
They published these humiliating acts on social media. The perpetrators were able to escape before the police arrived.
After intensive investigations, the six accused have now been identified. The Salzburg public prosecutor’s office ordered the arrests of the six. These were carried out between Tuesday and Wednesday in Salzburg city, Tennengau and Flachgau. During house searches, clothing, some of which had been used during the crime, was seized.
The accused have partially confessed. They were taken to the Salzburg prison.
