The Pongauer are already second in the table after the home win over Reichenau. The next opponent Saalfelden shot himself warm in Kufstein for the derby.
With the third win in a row, Bischofshofen took another step up the table in the Regionalliga West on Saturday. Like seven days ago, the Pongauers prevailed against Reichenau. The team of head coach Andreas Fötschl, who is leaving for Puch in the summer, followed the 3:2 away win with a confident 3:0 home win. “The opponent is well served with the result,” says the BSK coach, whose team is now second in the table. Leader Hohenems is tied on points, as is third-placed promotion candidate Bregenz. Their duel ended 1-1 on Saturday.
Bischofshofen leaves nothing to chance
Bischofshofen dominated from the start. Viktor Drocic scored the lead after just ten minutes after a Stangler from Bogdan Kuksenko. Kuksenko with a header (40′) and Joker Konstantinos Chatzipirpiridis (78′) both increased after assists from Mauricio Villalobos. “Nicely played hits in difficult pitch conditions,” says Fötschl, who believes his team is capable of first place. Next Saturday Kuksenko and Co. have to pass in Saalfelden. “It’s the key game for me now, but we’ve shown we can be up front.”
Saalfelden celebrates the first victory
The Pinzgauers celebrated their first win in the Western League in good time before the Salzburg duel. In Kufstein, Tamas Tandari scored with a head after 15 minutes. Joao Pedro increased 20 minutes before the end, but the Kufsteiner made it exciting just before the end after a set piece. The fifth-placed team from Saalfelden kept the upper hand and are now prepared for an exciting derby against Bischofshofen.
