Today a course is set for the future state government. Governor Wilfried Haslauer (VP) will report to the party presidium in the morning regarding the exploratory talks and propose with whom he would like to start coalition negotiations. They should start drawing up the timetable at the beginning of next week.
Three constellations are conceivable: a coalition of VP and FP, a VP-SP pact or a tripartite coalition of VP, SP and Greens.
Yesterday, following the exploratory talks with the FP, SP and Greens, Haslauer also received the state spokesman for the fifth future state parliament party, Kay-Michael Dankl from the KPÖ plus.
Unlike the rounds on Tuesday and Wednesday, it was not regarding the formation of a state government. Haslauer had previously announced that a coalition with the Communists was out of the question for him. And Dankl had also emphasized that he didn’t want to be in any government, but rather a “nuisance” for the government.
“The conversation was very factual and respectful. We said we wanted to be a constructive opposition,” Dankl said followingwards.
“Not Particularly Left”
He suggested “a few things” to the governor that were “not particularly left-wing” and shouldn’t be a problem for the ÖVP either – “I would be happy if the ÖVP took up a few of them and implemented them”.
Before the election, more than 100 people’s concerns were brought to the attention of the KPÖ plus, “and now there are more and more”.
