Salzburg: Suspected Reich citizen did not come to trial

On Wednesday, a Salzburg jury waited in vain for a 51-year-old German who was probably close to the state objectors or Reich citizens.

The man received an administrative penalty in September 2022 because he was caught on the motorway in Salzburg without a vignette. As a result, he wrote several emails to employees of the Tamsweg district administration, in which he threatened them with sanctions because they were not authorized to punish him. In Austria, (only) the SHAEF laws – the name refers to the “Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force”, the high command of the Allied forces in Europe during the Second World War – are applicable. The German is accused of inciting abuse of office, attempted coercion and dangerous threats.

Due to the defendant’s unexcused absence, the public prosecutor requested his investigation and arrest. The presiding judge, in turn, wants to have the defendant undergo a neuropsychiatric evaluation if he is caught.
