In addition to the three favorites, of which only Seekirchner is flawless, Golling, Eugendorf and Bergheim also qualified for the final day in the intermediate round on Saturday.

Grünau is the most talented and well-coordinated indoor team in the Salzburg lower house. This might also be seen in the second round at the Salzburger Stier. On Saturday in the Alpenstrasse sports hall it was also clear that this is no guarantee of success and that Stefan Federer, Julian Feiser and Co. are also vulnerable. Ask St. Johann, because the second western league team in the tournament inflicted the defending champions’ first defeat in the competition. After the Pongau team won 5:3, both favorites rose confidently. Bergheim secured third place on the grid for Sunday’s decision.

Grünau and St. Johann confidently – Bergheim advanced with a one-goal lead

As in the preliminary round, the national league team only secured promotion in the final duel. The team around player-coach Alexander Pilaj had to beat the strong HSV Wals in order to overtake them. Even before the 2-1 win, Bergheim had shown strong nerves and saved a 3-3 draw once morest Plainfeld with two calm goals. In the table, the goal difference was one goal better than the Plainfeld teams with the same points (and equal in the direct duel).

Seekirchen strong once more

In the second group of five on Saturday, Seekirchen lived up to its role as favorite. The Flachgauers showed that, like St. Johann, they have both the playful and physical skills to be dangerous for Grünau. With Fabian Neumayr, the Salzburg league team also has a striker in their ranks who is in a scoring mood. After his tournament goals, the ex-professional is in contention for the top scorer’s crown by five to ten.

Golling follows Eugendorf in the final round

Eugendorf and Golling took the lead behind the Seekirchners. Because the Tennengauers beat the already qualified Flachgauers 6-1 at the end, Hallwang, along with the winless Tamsweg, also lost out.
