The United States International Chamber of Commerce (in Spanish) revealed that in three years the institution has managed to channel investments from Salvadorans abroad (Salex) estimated at $6 million in El Salvador.
«More is projected [inversión] “Because now, with President Bukele’s second term, the projects that are in place and the commitment to the resurgence of the country’s economy, it is projected that more investment will come from Salvadorans abroad, and proof of this is the massive vote for the last elections, in which more than 385,000 people voted because people are trusting El Salvador and the Government,” said the executive president of the institution, Salvador Pascasio.
He added: “We educate Salvadorans abroad in the sense that things are different now than they were before, when there was a lot of bureaucracy, no technology or communication. In three years, the arrival of business delegations to El Salvador has been facilitated thanks to the leadership and openness of our president and the government.”
The businessman also highlighted the historic changes made by President Nayib Bukele’s administration, for example security as the first vital pillar to change the economy and achieve the transformations that the country needs. In addition, he points out that the Government returned to the diaspora the sense of belonging to their country of origin.
