Salud signed an agreement with the Faculty of Medicine of the UNT for training and assistance projects for 2023

The Minister of Public Health, Dr. Luis Medina Ruiz, today headed the signing of the agreement with the dean of the Alta Casa de Estudios, Dr. Mateo Martínez, in order to work jointly next year for the benefit of the community.

Consulted in this regard, the head of the health portfolio said: “We had a meeting with the dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the UNT, where we have finalized the signing of a framework agreement to work together next year. This agreement allows us to work on the education and training of human resources. For this, we design training with courses, diplomas, according to the needs of the Health System”.

In this sense, the minister explained that they discussed the training of medical students, residences and the possible formation of a Certification Council for nurses, midwives, kinesiologists.

Likewise, he maintained that together with the president of the Health Commission of the Tucumán Legislature, René Ramírez, it was agreed to move forward in this regard. “We agree to work together with the training of emergency medical technicians, normally called paramedics. This staff would be trained to resolve the emergency on first arrival. For example, patients who suffered a road accident, the ambulance arrives with technicians to act immediately to save their lives. We are in a position to train these health workers and, of course, give them work. They are projects for next year”.

For his part, Martínez commented: “It was a very pleasant and productive meeting. I have only words of appreciation for the work carried out by the workers of the Health System. We signed an agreement in which we ratify the ties that unite us of fruitful and shared work, and the commitment to deepen some lines of work for next year”.

Then he said: “Dr. Medina Ruiz raised the issue of paramedics with very good judgment. In this sense, we and other institutions made the design, but they are profiles that are not yet available in our province. We believe that in our province it is interesting to address the issue and many other issues. We will do it side by side with the Ministry of Health”.

Meanwhile, Dr. David Strasorier, a member of the Health Cabinet, pointed out that the Ministry and the Faculty of Medicine have previous experiences in joint work. However, new technologies and the advancement of science mean that the objectives of the cooperation agreements are permanently reviewed, responding to the dynamics of new social demands.

For this reason, he pointed out: “The agreement not only opens the possibility of a series of training spaces and permanent formation for the human capital that integrates the Tucumán Health System, but also because it allows us to advance in research processes and studies that already the University has been doing and that the Ministry is also doing. This joint work shows the importance of education and public health for society and the benefit that this implies for society as a whole.
