Salud Colima – Changing habits improves physical and mental health

The Secretary of Health of the Government of the State of Colima announced that the modification of habits allows us to improve our physical and mental health and, thus, achieve a better quality of life, for which reason it shares twelve recommendations to the Colima population to promote health .

Within the framework of the recent World Health Day, the State Coordination of ‘Life Line’ of the dependency, stated that for this purpose it is recommended to eat healthy, consume plain water, perform physical activity, get vaccinated, as well as avoid the consumption of alcohol, tobacco and/or toxic substances.

The state agency suggests practicing sports and recreational activities to improve physical and mental health, always wearing a seat belt in vehicles and wearing a helmet when using a motorcycle or bicycle, practicing sexuality responsibly, promoting breastfeeding, making timely detections, and strengthening hygienic habits.

He mentioned that health for all people has been the maximum objective that has been pursued during all these years, and although progress has been made, the inequities are persistent and have exacerbated, hence the deep structural challenges facing the health systems. health and that have affected the response capacity.

He added that the aspiration is to develop and achieve resilient health systems that have the capacity to prepare for an emergency and respond effectively, maintain basic functions when a crisis occurs, and reorganize if conditions require it.

Its main component -he concluded- is efficient primary care, with the capacity to articulate promotion, prevention, surveillance and care measures for the most prevalent health problems in the communities.
