Salt’s headquarters in Renens.

Salt continued its growth path in the first quarter with 32,500 net subscription mobile phone additions. The Renens operator in the hands of Xavier Niel therefore claims 1.5 million customers on invoice and more than 200,000 on fiber optics.

Financially, Salt claims to sign a strong financial performance in the first quarter, with operating income up 2.8% year-on-year to 221.6 million Swiss francs and EBITDA up 4. 4%, to 135.0 million Swiss francs.

The CEO sees far!

“The first quarter results prove once once more that Salt’s customers greatly appreciate our products and services. Salt has a solid platform for growth that will allow it to go even further”, according to Franck Bernard, CEO ad interim.

“More and more people in Switzerland are realizing that they are getting excellent quality and the best value for money with Salt, both for mobile telephony and for ultra-fast broadband”, continues the financial leader.

Contrasting developments

While Salt Home celebrated its 5th anniversary by surpassing the 200,000 customer mark and committing not to increase its prices until at least June 2026, it may be useful to see more generally the progress of this operator . Over this period, this represents 40,000 subscribers per year. As a reminder, the bar of 150,000 subscribers dates from the end of the 3rd quarter of 2021.

Finally, in terms of mobile, we might recall that at the end of 2015, Salt had more than 2 million mobile customers (prepaid or on account). Since then, like its competitors, it has continued to work on this clientele to switch them to formulas including subscriptions. Result: of the 870,000 prepaid subscribers in 2015, only 386,000 remained at the end of the 1is quarter of 2023. Another way of seeing things.
