The governor Gustavo Saenz signed the decree of necessity and urgency No. 129, by which it is established that foreigners who belong to the categories of temporary and precarious residents also contribute to covering the expenses generated by their health care in the provincial health centers either by themselves themselves or through health insurance. This measure seeks to guarantee the solvency of the Salta public health system.

The document also signed by all the Ministers of the Provincial Executive, provides that health care for foreigners in cases of urgency or emergency (whatever category they fall into), may not be denied or restricted, since it is of a humanitarian issue. The provincial State will subsequently arbitrate the necessary means to collect the expenses incurred.
