These products were prepared with Quaker granola which could be contaminated with this bacteria and which has been the subject of a recall since January 11.

The stores concerned are Provigo, Maxi, Club Entrepot, IGA, IGA Extra, IGA Express, IGA Mini, Tradition, Bonichoix, Bonisoir, Omni, Voisin and Rachelle-Béry.

Products from other Sobeys and Loblaw banner stores located elsewhere in the country are also affected by this recall.

In Quebec, only yogurt parfaits prepared in store and whose expiration date indicates a date before January 15 are among the recalled products.

A complete and detailed list of affected products is available on the Government of Canada website dedicated to recalls.

“Food contaminated with Salmonella bacteria does not necessarily show visible spoilage or a suspicious odor, but can still make you sick,” the recall notice states. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems can get serious and sometimes fatal infections.”

“In healthy people, salmonellosis can manifest itself with short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea,” we add. Salmonellosis can cause long-term complications, including severe arthritis.”

The affected products should not be consumed or distributed.

They must be thrown away or returned to the place where they were purchased.
