“It is completely different to make a strong political criticism of the faction you support and if you possibly see that some things need to be corrected or need to be checked, to point them out, and it is completely different to accuse this government of alleged corruption issues, to receive answers both within the Parliamentary Group and from the responsible minister and to continue as if you were behaving as an opposition member of parliament”, stated Mr. Pleuris specifically.
“The reason that Mr. Salmas is referred to is not that he made political criticism, but that he essentially questioned whether the government operates with transparency or corruption in mind, so obviously here it is a different matter. If you do a search of the last few years to see a speech by Mr. Salma in the Greek parliament supporting the government you might have to try hard,” he said.
