sales record in France in 2021

In 2021, the Korean manufacturer signed the best year in its history on the French market, with 45,241 registered units.

Last year, Hyundai registered in France 45,241 vehicles, making 2021 the best year in its history in the national market. This represents an increase of 30.8% compared to 2020, but also an increase of 13.2% compared to 2019, the year of the brand’s previous record with 39,970 registrations on the French market.

The Korean automaker also broke its own passenger car market share record, with 2.7% market share, an increase of 0.6% compared to 2020. In 2021, Hyundai was ranked seventh among generalist manufacturers, and third among imported generalists. A perilous exercise in a complex context, marked by the health crisis as well as shortages and difficulties in the supply of electronic components.

Hyundai: ahead of electrification

Hyundai is ahead of the French market in the electrification of its range, with 14.9% of its sales in 100% electric, when the market peaked at 9.8%. Hybrids represent 28.9% of Hyundai’s sales (9.6% for the market), while plug-in hybrids represent 11.8% of its sales (against 8.5% for the market), and 31.3 % for micro-hybrids (7.6% for the market).

In 2022, Hyundai wishes to reach the French market a volume of 50,000 registrations, thanks to the help of its latest novelties, which will know their first full year: Tucson plug-in hybrid, Ioniq 5 and Bayon.
