At New York’s Strand Bookstore, several of Rushdie’s works were among the most sought following by the public, not counting online orders.
“People come and look for any of your books, they want to know what we haveKatie Silvernail, a section manager at the bookstore, told AFP.
Twitter users, meanwhile, urged people to buy Rushdie books like way to express solidarity.
Wounded in the neck and abdomen, Rushdie is hospitalized in Pennsylvania in serious condition.
