The Epson EcoTank ET-8500 is an A4 photo printer without cartridges. This is a multifunction model that aims for print quality. Its debits are not left out.
The Epson EcoTank ET-8500, similar to theET-8550 tested on Digital, manages to be a very good photo printer, but also a very good printer at all. We expected no less given its price. Apart from a slightly high average delta E (6.3), this model is flawless.

An alternative
As is often the case with printers, the devil is in the details (which aren’t really details). Professional by nature, the HP OfficeJet Pro 7720 does a lot at a fairly competitive price and is quite economical in use. Too bad it doesn’t have a second paper tray, doesn’t have better shortcuts for its basic functions and is too noisy. In its genre, it would otherwise have been able to claim five stars.
