The biggest biennial cycling event in Japan, Shimanami Cycling, is highly anticipated by bikers from various parts of the world. It is highly anticipated because it passes five small islands with beautiful views via exotic bridges, sometimes you have to circle up quite steeply.

The Shimanami Cycling event this time will be held on Sunday 27 October 2024 and will be held in several categories, namely 140 kilometers, 65 kilometers, etc.

To take part in this event, Managing Director of Sinarmas Saleh Husin prepared himself with regular training, both endurance training, physical training and muscle strengthening training so he could take part and finish the 140 kilometers.

“And thank God, thanks to regular practice, I was able to complete the longest route. The start was from the city of Imabari Ehime to Onomichi Hiroshima and finished again in Imabari Ehime via a different road with beautiful views and nature.”

“And without realizing it, I had covered the furthest route of 140 kilometers with Rudi Pasaribu, Tata, Heriyanto, and other participants. Even though my tire had burst, the technician from the committee swiftly and quickly replaced my tire so I could get back on the road,” said Saleh. Husin.

Saleh said that he was not alone from Indonesia. “Twelve of us bikers include senior economist Aviliani who is also a commissioner of Allo Bank, Bank Danamon Director Rita Mirasari, Deputy Main Director of Zurich Asuransi Indonesia Heriyanto, businessman Hernie, Jimmy Tahir, Arif Dadi, Ajis, and Toe Sugiarty. Everyone looks enthusiastic about completing until the finish of the 65 kilometer group.”

There were around 3,000 participants from various countries who looked very enthusiastic about enjoying this biggest cycling event in Japan.

“I also had the opportunity to meet and chat with the European Union Ambassador to Japan, Jean Erick Paquet. He also took part in the 140 kilometer race with participants from the Philippines and several ambassadors. Moreover, Shimanami Cycling is held every two years at the end of October before winter enters. So the air “Very good, not cold and not hot,” said Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Industry, Saleh Husin. (Z-2)
