Sale of Emiliano Martinez’s gloves for the Cancer Hospital

“$45,000 for Depo Gloves to help Garahan children,” the Argentine Pediatric Foundation wrote on Instagram, referring to the oncology ward at Garahan Hospital, the main pediatric hospital in Argentina.

The auction was held on the Internet on Friday, and Martinez joined him via video from his home in England, where he plays with Aston Villa.

Argentina won the World Cup title for the third time in its history, by defeating France 4-2 on penalties following a 3-3 tie in a fiery match.

“When they gave me the opportunity to present me with the World Cup gloves, I didn’t hesitate, this is a good cause for the boys,” said the goalkeeper during the event. He continued, “You don’t play the World Cup finals every day, (the gloves) are special. But they help a child more than I put them in a locker at my house.”
