Salamina: The would-be rapist has a criminal past

The would-be rapist who attempted to sexually assault the 20-year-old on a deserted beach in Salamina appears to have a heavy criminal record.

The most recent complaint against him was made three weeks ago against a girl. In October 2023 he was accused of attempted rape and sexual harassment of two girls in Salamis.

“Last year it bothered me too. I was sitting at the bus stop waiting for the bus to go home. He started talking to me at first and then he came and sat next to me on the bus and when I changed seats he came next to me again. I got down before my house, for I was afraid he would follow me, as he did. When he saw me enter a gas station and talk to people, he left,” says another girl who was a victim of harassment by the would-be rapist, with her post on social media.

Familiar with the Authorities
The would-be rapist has engaged the police many times in the past. He has been arrested a total of 15 times. In fact, he has been imprisoned for drugs and house burglaries.

“The beating was unnecessary. It was not used to immobilize the perpetrator, but for impressions. So useless” and “Most people liked that they watched wood in the video and not because the rape was prevented. Brutality is what characterizes Greek society and not empathy,” say users who disagree with the 39-year-old’s move to hit the would-be rapist.
