Salah Abdeslam’s Transfer Request to Belgian Prison: Latest Updates and Implications

Salah Abdeslam, currently imprisoned in Belgium where he faces a life sentence for the attacks in Brussels in 2016, no longer wishes to return to prison in France and wishes to carry out his detention in Belgium, the court told AFP on Thursday. In addition to the sentence linked to his participation in the events of November 13, 2015, Salah Abdeslam is also currently serving a 20-year prison sentence handed down in 2018 in Brussels for his participation in a shooting with the police in March 2016, three days before his arrest.
