Slowdowns and traffic jams were caused this Saturday followingnoon on the E40 between Ostend and Brussels, near Erpe-Mere. A truck has indeed lost its load of salads, which ended up spread out on the road. Two lanes of traffic were blocked. The traffic jams extended as far as Wetteren. According to Het Laatste Nieuws, the delay time reached one hour.
Firefighters were called to the scene to clear the road. At 3:30 p.m., the federal police reported that the roadway was now clear.
