Thiruvananthapuram – CPM State Secretary has hinted that Saji Cherian will return to the post of minister. State Secretary MV Govindan said that once the party takes a stand, a decision will be taken regarding Saji Cherian’s return to the post of minister.
Presently Saji Cherianu has no case in court. He resigned because the party took a stand when there was a controversy. No decision has been taken regarding the return of Saji Cherian to the ministerial position. A decision will be taken when the party takes a new stand. The party took a stand not only because there is a case once morest Saji Cherian but also considering morality. Saji Cherian resigned as minister despite no court order. MV Govindan said in a press conference that the party will take the necessary stand in his case.
He resigned from the ministerial post on July 6 last year on the basis of the party’s assessment that Saji had delivered a speech insulting the constitution at the CPM regional conference held at Mallapally in Pathanamthitta. The police report said that the constitution was not insulted and criticized. Last day, the court rejected the plea to disqualify Saji Cherian from the post of MLA.
MV Govindan alleged that the governor is being used to destroy the knowledge society and lead it to saffronisation. This move created a stir in Kerala politics. The Congress had adopted a favorable position for the Governor. The League took the right stand on the Governor issue. Congress had to come to the position of the League. The opposition has taken a stand that it is not opposed to the removal of the governor from the post of chancellor in the discussion related to the university bill. MV Govindan said that Muslim League is a democratic party and CPM has not said that it is a communal party. SDPI works on a communal basis. You have to criticize while cooperating with them.
